In the course of purchasing or leasing a motor vehicle, it is necessary to gather nonpublic personal information from you, our customer.  If it is necessary to extend credit to you when you purchase or lease a vehicle, we will gather information from you to determine your credit note worthiness.  We may also need to obtain information from a credit-reporting agency or third parties such as employers, insurance companies and references.  Some information may be required by law from agencies such as the Department of Motor Vehicles or the Internal Revenue Service.  Even if the purchase were a cash transaction, it still may be necessary to collect your social security or driver's license number.
